I hesitate to write things too personal on this blog but I thought I’d share this. Last weekend, we had a very special event in our family. Our oldest daughter Lydia was baptized. We believe that until children reach the age of 8, they are not accountable for things that they do wrong. When they turn 8 years of age, they can choose to be baptized. In the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, baptism is done by immersion which is a symbol of many things including death and rebirth—it is a symbol of all sins and wrongdoings being washed away. Lydia’s baptism day was really neat. I’ve been thinking a lot about how sweet and clean she is. What a visual reminder of a new beginning.
